How Much Can I Charge?
Although notary fees are optional, Texas law sets the maximum fees that notaries may charge for their services. Notaries are also required to post their fees for the public, and you should give a written itemized invoice for your notarial services.
The maximum allowable fees a Texas notary or their employer may charge for notarial acts are as follows:
- For protesting a bill or note for nonacceptance or nonpayment, register and seal: $4
- For each notice of protest: $1
- For protesting in all other cases:
$4
- For certificate and seal to a protest: $4
- For taking the acknowledgment or proof of a deed or other instrument in writing, for registration, including certificate and seal:
- For the first signature: $10
- For each additional signature:
$1
- For administering an oath or affirmation with certificate and seal: $10
- For a copy of a record or paper in the notary public’s office (for each page): $1
- For taking the Booking fee of a witness (for each 100 words):
$1
- For swearing a witness to a Booking fee, certificate, seal, and other business connected with taking the booking fee: $10
- For a notarial act not provided for: $10
An online notary public or their employer may charge a fee not to exceed $25 for performing an online notarization in addition to any other fees authorized under Tex. Gov’t. Code Ann. §406.024.
- Apostille Services starting at 350.00 expedited services are additional
- Fiduciary Care Services 50.00 per hour (available to be tailored to each client)

Travel Charges
Travel charges are not statutory fees and are listed separately from Texas Notary Fees
- Express Rush Mobile Service (09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.) $65.00
Express Mobile Service is a discounted travel charge during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. to – 5:00 p.m.) to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of 75150), for 30 minutes of service. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
- Standard Mobile Service (09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.) $35.00
Standard Mobile Service is a travel charge during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. to – 5:00 p.m.) to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of 75150), for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
- Late Evening Mobile Service (5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) $70.00
Late Evening Mobile Service is a travel charge between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of 75150), for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
- Night Owl Mobile Service (10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.) $100.00
Night Owl Mobile Service is a travel charge between 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight) to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of 75150), for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
- Overnight/Early Bird Mobile Service (12:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.) $125.00
Overnight/Early Bird Mobile Service is a travel charge between 12:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. to meet you at a mutually agreed upon location (within 10 miles of 75150), for 30 minutes of service. Locations beyond 10 miles may incur an additional mileage surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees.
- Mileage Surcharge (>10 miles) per mile – one way $2.00
A mileage surcharge is applied when a customer-designated location for service is within 10 miles of 75150. Charged at $2.00 per mile (one way). This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees. Toll Charges – $ variable $
NTTA tolls incurred (round trip) will be charged. The amount will vary, based on the location of service. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees. Collar County Service Surcharge $50.00
Service outside Tarrant, Dallas, Collin, Johnson and Ellis counties will incur a collar county travel surcharge. This charge is separate from Texas Notary Fees. Wait charges are additional $10.00 Per 15 Mins.
